You can choose from large party boats, yachts, or even water bikes. All transport can be booked in advance on their websites, Facebook pages, or by phone. You can also book activities on the spot, depending on availability. Most people visit the Trakai district on weekends and holidays.
There are also several beaches near lake Galve. 
Parking spaces can be found everywhere in the center and even further in the area. Some people offer parking in their home yards. Restrooms and other amenities are also available at the center.

A story from lake life: 
Lithuania has a very large population of swans, and there are certainly more than one couple living in lake Galvė. However, as you may know, swans often mate for life, and if something happens to their other half, swans rarely manage to find a new partner.

Then there is this story about a huge, strong, beautiful swan who lost his first love and lived alone for more than 10 years.
One of the islands around Trakai Castle is named "Love" island. There are rumors surrounding it that miracles happen there. And very often, this swan was seen circling around this "Love" island at sunset.
Once, when the sun was setting, the captain of a yacht was sailing past this island when he noticed a couple - a girl and a boy - near this island in another yacht. All of a sudden, the guy knelt down on his knee and proposed to the girl. At that moment, the great swan was circling around.
A week later, at sunset, another couple appeared, and again the guy proposed. The swan was spinning around once more.
Two weeks later, at sunset again, a young couple, who seemed too young to be engaged, appeared. But to the captain's surprise, the young man proposed once more. And once again, the swan was circling around the "Love" island.

Many beautiful stories revolve around the magnificent Trakai Castle and its surrounding islands.

Kibinas (kibinai as plural) is a traditional Lithuanian pastry originating from the Karaim community, an ethnic group with roots in Crimea who settled in Lithuania centuries ago. Kibinas is a savory pastry typically filled with minced meat (often beef or lamb) mixed with onions and various spices, such as garlic, pepper, and sometimes cumin. The pastry crust is typically made from yeast dough, which is folded over the filling and crimped at the edges to seal it.
Kibinas is often baked until golden brown and served hot. It's a popular snack or street food in Lithuania, enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. In addition to the traditional meat filling, modern variations of kibinas may include fillings such as cheese, mushrooms, or vegetables to cater to different tastes and dietary preferences.

"Markizas" opened its doors in the historical seat of Lithuanian rulers in Trakai in 2001, the day when the first and only king Mindaugas was crowned a few centuries ago.

Alpacas are domesticated South American camelids that are closely related to llamas, guanacos, and vicuñas. They are native to the Andes Mountains of South America, primarily found in countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Chile. Alpacas have been domesticated for thousands of years by indigenous Andean cultures for their luxurious fiber, which is highly valued for its softness, warmth, and hypoallergenic properties.
Alpacas typically stand about 81 to 99 centimeters (32 to 39 inches) tall at the shoulder and weigh between 55 to 65 kilograms (121 to 143 pounds). They have long, slender necks, straight backs, and a gentle, curious expression. Alpacas are known for their thick, fluffy coats, which come in a variety of natural colors, including white, black, brown, and shades of gray.

How did they come to Lithuania?

In 2001, the founder of the Alpaca farm built a garden house in Trakai with her family. Because both summers and winters are very pleasant here, the family decided to move here permanently. Upon moving, they decided to purchase alpacas. Initially, the main purpose of acquiring alpacas was not for fur business or excursions, but rather for grass-cutting purposes, as these animals are known for their excellent grass-cutting abilities. Thus, "Alpakos Trakai" became the first alpaca kennel in Lithuania.
The first five alpacas arrived from Chile in 2011: Chile in white, Lily in silver, Chestnut in chestnut, Spot in white with a brown spot, and Champagne in cream. In July 2012, the farm welcomed its first offspring.
During the summer, the farm owners encountered a problem - the alpacas avoided going out in the sun and refused to graze. It was discovered that they were simply overheating. As a result, the decision was made to shear their fur. At that time, there was only one alpaca hair stylist in Lithuania. Following the shearing, the challenge arose of finding a suitable use for the wool.
As the farm owner explains: "Our alpacas are bred for their extremely fine wool, with a thickness ranging from 14 to 18 microns, falling under the 'BABY ALPAKA' wool category. Each year, we manually shear the wool, which is processed without the use of any cleaners, dyes, or other chemical substances. Our alpaca wool yarns are available in natural colors only, without any dyeing. These threads are carefully spun by hand by Lithuanian women who still uphold the old spinning traditions."
Today, a variety of alpaca wool knitwear is available, including gloves, scarves, hats, and socks.
As of 2023, there are 57 alpacas on the farm, contributing to a total of approximately 1,200 alpacas across several farms in Lithuania.
